Little Lion's Birthday Party

We had Mikey's birthday party on Labor Day weekend because Mike's parents were visiting then. We had the party at a nearby park, which has a great castle playground! Mikey loved his party because he got to be OUTSIDE the whole time. We had some wonderful friends attend the party, and the playground was not too crowded because it had been cloudy and rainy all day until about an hour before the party. We got an ice cream cake from our favorite ice cream place: Maggie Moo's. And we had some snacks too. Mike and I were surprised at how expensive our simple birthday party was: just snacks, cake, and a few decorations at a free park. What if our kids want to have more elaborate birthday parties in the future? Well, I guess we'll have to work them into our budget.
